Base Background
Camp Minden was established in 1941 as the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. This site served as an ammunition assembly plant. Camp Minden takes up a portion of this site and is run by the state’s National Guard. There is also an industrial complex present on the site, which the state uses for commercial activity. Some of the units present on the site include the 1083rd Transportation Company, 39th Military Police, and 122nd Air Support Operations Squadron.
